Despite being practically unknown on either coast, Juvie had a serious reputation and developed a huge following across the South and Midwest.JavaScript is disabled in your browser settings.JavaScript.

Hailing from New Orleans infamous Magnolia housing projects, Juvenile released his first album in 1995; he teamed up with Cash Money honchos Slim and Baby a few years later to drop Solja Rags. By the time his fourth record 400 Degreez dropped in 1998, the charismatic emcee was ready for the big time. Ha was his first single to blow up on a national level, featuring the otherworldly electro-crunk production of Mannie Fresh backing his unusual, heavily accented flows. Back That Azz Up soon followed, an infectious, booty-shaking anthem that kept the radio and video shows on lock for months. ![]() Although some scoff at their gold-plated grills, customized helicopters, and proudly violent and sexist lyrics, their perseverance and DIY work ethic made the Hot Boy the biggest success story of 1999. Possibly the first real break out star in Cash Money history. This is not his first LP, its his third outing but only second with Cash Money as a label. Years later, does it still hold up No, Not really. But I dont wanna make no minced words n shit so ima get into this review. With Go DJ being another inescapable hit of theirs at the time like Back That Azz Up was. I wasnt really into them ( No Limit Man Baby) but they were hard to miss. Given how much I do like No Limit Records and Southern Hip Hop in general. The entirety of the production was handled by Mannie Fresh, in hindsight not a favorable choice for me. Juvenile 400 Degreez Album Full Tracklist OfI never was high on Mannie as a producer, he has his moments but in a full tracklist of 18 entries This feels repetitive after awhile, its just okay. I cant fondly recall very many instrumentals is what im tryna say. It doesnt help that Juvenile isnt exactly the most creative MC either. Most of the album revolves around money, loose women, and being hood. Once you develop a certain level of ignorance for about an hour this shit does get fun. This album is something to hear from time to time, shit dont require no heavy analysis. To add, if youre curious about the guests.theyre limited down to Lil Wayne, The Big Tymers, Hot Boyz and so on. I wasnt expectin no Liquid Swords or nothin but being their highest sellin record of all time I wanted to keep bumpin this without getting bored and that wasnt really happening. If you havent heard it, I cant tell you not to. Well I could.) Ill say, if Tha Carter 1 and the years preceding in Cash Money appealed to you and somehow you havent heard this, go for it. So you ready to get down and dirty, then all of a sudden her dick pops out. Theres still an audience for this scenario but its not for everyone. ![]() Only a handful of the songs still get any play from me though. ![]()
